Artist of the Month: Diana Ross
Before blazing a trail as a highly successful solo artist, Ross headlined The Supremes, to this day the best-charting female group in musical history. As if that wasn’t enough, she won a Golden Globe, and was nominated for an Oscar, for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues. Diana Ross is our Artist of the Month, and that means we're taking the chance to bring you some of the deepest cuts from our collection. Below you'll find some of our favourites.

The Supremes on Hullabaloo, 1965
The Donaldson Collection
Before she found success as a solo artist, Ross took the world by storm as a member of The Supremes. Here we see Diana, her fellow Supremes Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson, on the NBC show 'Hullabaloo'.

Diana in Los Angeles, 1975
Harry Langdon
Ross had a close working relationship with Langdon. His snap of a waifish Diana eating an apple graced the cover of her first solo album. Here we see her in an outfit inspired by East Asian costume.
Born to a famous vaudevillian, Harry Langdon has had a long career in Hollywood. He's photographed everyone from Diana and Dolly to Will Smith, and he continues to work today.

Diana Ross, October 1981
Richard Bernstein
Bernstein took this famous portrait of Diana for the 1981 issue of Interview magazine, founded by Andy Warhol in 1969. The issue featured an interview of Diana by Warhol at the Carlyle Hotel where they talked about everything from her childhood, her exercise routine, and Harlem, to Warhol's lesbian friends, who adored her.
Richard Bernstein was an American Pop artist intimately associated with the Warhol circle. From 1972 to 1989 he was the cover artist for Interview.
