Actress, human rights activist, and mother, Bianca Jagger’s chance meeting with Mick Jagger put her life on a course that defies imagination.

Born in 1945, Bianca Jagger grew up in Nicaragua. She later moved to France to study political science, and after a stint travelling around India, ultimately settled in America. A prominent party-goer, Jagger could often be found beneath the neon lights and plumes of cigarette smoke at Studio 54 in New York, where she mingled with the likes of Andy Warhol. It was this socialising that led to her meeting Mick Jagger at a Rolling Stones after-party, and the couple married in 1971 — beginning their whirlwind romance that dazzled the world. In 1978, after discovering his affair, Bianca divorced from Jagger and shed her party-girl image. From that point onwards, she devoted her life to activism. From chairing the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation to being Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador and World Future Council Chair, she’s helped prevent US intervention in her home country, and spread the world of human rights issues across the globe. A far cry from her past, she’ll be forever known as trying to bring positive change in the world.
