Sade Prints
Appointed an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in 2002 for services to music, Sade is one of the most successful British female artists in history.
Beginning her music journey in a British pop group called Pride, Sade then broke away from it to form the band that we all know today as Sade. While she gained her popularity in the 1980s and 90s, she became in 1986 the first Nigerian-born artist to win a Grammy Award when she was named Best New Artist in 1986.
She would then go to sweep the music world with a number of hits, " Smooth Operator" (1984), "No Ordinary Love" (1992) and "By Your Side" (2000).
Her blend of soul, jazz, funk and Afro-Cuban rhythms cemented her legacy in music history and will continue to inspire many. We hope you'll enjoy some of our favourite shots of Sade, curated here for you.
