David Gahr

You Name Them, He Shot Them.

Born to Russian immigrant parents, David Gahr was a soldier before he became a photographer. He enlisted one day after the attack on Pearl Harbour, and he took part in the liberation of concentration camps.

He became, in time, one of pre-eminent photographers of American folkblues, jazz and rock musicians, in the '60s and beyond. His output covered everyone from Phil Spector to Johnny Cash, and his work is in major collections like The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
