Diana Ross Prints

The Queen of Motown

Born in Detroit in the forties, Diana was raised by a strict Christian family active in the church choir. Having learned secular music from a cousin, she auditioned, unsuccessfully, for a school musical. That rejection led her to form the legendary Supremes with Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard. They became international stars, and were recognised as America’s most successful vocal band. Diana left the trio to embark on a solo career, with hits like ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ and ‘I’m Coming Out’. Expanding her horizons further, she branched out into acting and was honoured with a Golden Globe in '73.
