John Rockwood
Inspired by the 1960s British blues revival, John Rockwood carved a unique path, capturing the soul of music’s greatest legends. With backstage access across Detroit and Chicago, his lens immortalised icons like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, and Stevie Ray Vaughan—both on stage and in intimate, offstage moments. His photographs have graced album covers and defining blues publications, including Living Blues. From smoky bars to sold-out arenas, Rockwood’s work reveals the heart of blues and rock culture. Still active today, he continues to document the music he loves, based in Toledo, Ohio.
